My work comes from personal inspiration. My artwork is also available for commissions.  I do the work in my studio, on site at Bluebird Haven.  The art comes from meditations, lessons learned through life experiences and the sheer enjoyment of nature’s beauty.  I believe the message of love is given in the smallest and in the grandest details of all creation.

​I graduated from Sam Houston University with Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in studio art after 25 years of study and the raising of my family. 
While attending the university I realized the world had many retreat centers for artist to attend but there were not many for people of faith. My place acts as a place for creatives to come and work their art while learning to express themselves without restriction of any said religion but to operate with love and honor for one another.  The workshops are for children and adults alike.

"The Veil" by Sallie Reid

It is the power of God’s love in us that changes the world. The status quo is knocked over when the presence of God touches it. The presence of God inhabits the praises of His people. Years ago, 1994, God gave me this thought; 
“Praise is the catalyst to your work.”
Our worship brings heaven here on earth. God inhabits our worship with His pres-ence, therein lies His heavenly atmosphere here on earth. We are His chosen vessels to move through. However our vessel is often contaminated by unforgiveness we hold against our brother or sister. We cannot enter into the fullness of authentic worship if we hold an offense in our heart. Unforgiveness robs us of more than we realize. It is a great weapon the enemy uses to steal the glory of God from our life. It is the glory of God that makes heaven tangible. I believe the veil between this world and the next is so very thin. We must guard our heart against unforgiveness that keeps us blind to the glory of God at any given moment.
2008
 I had a vision of that veil one day as I was worshiping. I first heard a tinkling noise like the sound of chimes, and I asked the Father, “What is that?” I looked up and in my mind’s eye I envisioned right before me a thin veil of opalescent, segmented discs with strands of the same material in strips. He spoke to my heart, saying, “that is just how thin the veil between heaven and earth is.” I will never forget that. I found a material made from shells on the Texas gulf coast and created a scene for a play we had in our community, the veil of heaven for “The Pathway of Lights” in Madisonville, Texas.

“The River of Life” by Sallie Reid

“Then the angel of the Lord showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crys-tal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.”  Revelation 22:1

“The River of Life” was the first painting I was asked to do in a worship service. I didn’t know what to paint. I decided to let go and trust God to show me what I was to do. As time passed, I felt I would use a big canvas, 8 x 10 feet, in acrylic paint. Nothing like going all out the first time.
The Holy Spirit was so present in the service that night,  I could hardly stand up. There were several times I was on my knees, sobbing in His presence. Until that point in my life, I had never felt  His presence so strong. I perceived He was guiding me in every deci-sion. I had never been so fulfilled and full of purpose as I was that night.
I completed the painting the following week at home. As I painted, the same sweet-ness of the Holy Spirit filled me up. I was blessed by the Holy Spirit’s presence and the guid-ing of my hand.
This was the first of many murals and life-size works I have painted in this journey with the Lord. He continues to fill me with his presence just as He did that night in 2007. It is my prayer that you would encounter the sweetness of the Lord as you view this piece. His presence in my life has changed me forever. This painting hangs in the baptistry of Shilo Baptist Church of Madisonville, Texas.

“The New Jerusalem” by Sallie Reid

“Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven 
and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 
Then I, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of 
heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 
And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the 
tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, 
and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them 
and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear from 
their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. 
There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed 
away.”   Revelation 21:1–4

I painted the vision of the new Jerusalem coming down from heaven. I envisioned the new earth without the sea, but it was filled with a life-giving river. As I painted the new earth, I realized the left side of the painting was void, so I asked the Lord, “What shall I put there?” My heart was impressed with the bride of Christ being ushered in by the Holy Spirit. The dove represents the Holy Spirit, and the gold ring represents the purity of Christ’s love for His bride. I imagined the saints of old traveling back and forth on the golden path as if the new heaven and the new earth were connected. “Jesus is our Hope” by Sallie Reid

Without hope, the people perish.
“Where there is no vision, the people perish; but he that kept the law, happy is he. We must have hope to have faith for without hope the heart is deferred.”   Proverbs 29:18 
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
  but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.”  Proverbs 13:12
I saw this vision at a time when I thought there was no hope. I reached out to God one more time, and I saw Jesus in the clouds with the doves flying all around Him. I knew then everything would be all right, and I had hope once again. As I was finishing the painting, I felt God’s gentle nudging to paint the word hope. At first, I did not want to do it, but now I know it is the key to our faith. The mural hangs at The House of Hope Restoration Center in Madisonville Texas.
“Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:1

“The Good Shepherd” by Sallie Reid

This mural is hanging over the baptistery in Midway, Texas, Church of Christ. It  was a journey of inspiration. I was commissioned to do this work. I listened to the desires of the people and I visited the church, to get a feel of what the Lord would have me to paint. They were so gracious in their trust in me and the Lord. As I was leaving, I noticed a tapestry pic-turing sheep that was hanging in the front foyer. The Lord reminded me of a dream I had of sheep before a russet-colored bluff. I had sketched this dream out at midnight about eight months prior. I knew this would be the inspiration for the mural. Painting the light first was the impression I had. I have learned to trust the nudging in my heart. I believe those nudgings are from the voice of the Lord. 

“When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of 
them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice”

As I painted, I began to research the landscape of Israel on the Internet. I came across a picture that was exactly like the dream. I had confirmation.
Laying out the colors, the composition came instantly. It was as if there was an intui-tive nature that took over in the process of working out the painting. I absolutely loved the browns and blues together. The colors of russet and brown infused with the vibrant blues danced in my eyes. Colors have spiritual significance. In this painting, I believe blue is a color of revelation; brown is a color of humanity, harvest, and sowing; and green is the color for new beginnings and restoration. Lavender is for transparency and intercession. Purple is for Kingship, royalty, and inheritance; and yellow is the courtship with God -- a pursuit with intention.
I always feel there is a message or a story in every painting. The message here is of the good shepherd, our sweet Jesus as He leads us along the still waters of revelation. His sheep know His voice and follow Him over all kinds of terrain, leading to new places, even through the troubled waters. I know that sheep do not necessarily move in or drink from moving water. However, I felt the message from the Lord was that when we move in uncom-fortable places, we will be able to cross over to the other side, just as the sheep are doing in the painting. I feel there is a transcending of peace passing from the heavens through the mountains into the valley. There is a courtship with God that leads us to a transparent rela-tionship, taking us to our inheritance of eternity. Our Father desires for us to walk in intimate fellowship with Him at every crook and turn of life. His covering of love is always there if we will only walk under it with Him. Peace is always ours for the asking. His love in us over-flows and spills into the lives of those around us, sowing seeds of harvest for the Kingdom! May His love and His peace be yours as you engage the Father

“Be Still and Know” by Sallie Reid

I painted this 24 years ago from this publication 2018, and this past year 2017–23 years post the painting— while visiting Bethel Church in Redding, California, I saw a physi-cal place in the natural that looked much like this painting to me.  The waterfall was in Bur-ney, California, and is known as Burney Falls.  I was overwhelmed with the holiness of God in the far-reaching thought that He would show me this very water fall in my mind prior to seeing it in the natural. The Father gave me this resting place in my mind to ‘Be Still and Know Him’ during a tumultuous time of life.  Now, twenty-three years later, He would show me the waterfall visually here on the earth. As I viewed this amazing sight, all I felt was the tangible power of God’s glory. 
One of the biblical meanings of the number 23 is ‘God with us’ and ‘the Lord’s pro-vision’. It is also a symbol of the spirit world and the world of matter coming to-gether, which is exactly what happened with the vision prior to the sighting of the ac-tual place 23 years later.
The force of the water paralleled the force I felt of God’s love washing over me. In the same way I had learned to quiet my mind in the spirit with the vision of the waterfall, I had learned to receive the love of the Father as Christ loved the church. “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10). The number 24 means priestly courses, governmental perfection; full authority; and complete rule; maturity; elders around heaven’s throne worshipping. (Revelation 11;16) according to the book by Barbie Breithet “A to Z Dream Symbology Dictionary”

“Breakthrough” by Sallie Reid

I see this painting as a portal into the heavens. The inspiration for the painting is that God’s presence is always with us and in us. An open heaven is over us each time we have revelation knowledge from the Father. It is truly a breakthrough when we realize that He is with us and in us. A friend of the family, Isabell Warren, had passed away as I was finishing this piece. I absolutely envisioned her walking up the steps of heaven through this portal.

“Purple Rain” by Sallie Reid

I started this painting in an obedient response to paint. I realized the obedience of my own heart brings the deliverance of my very soul. I can’t walk in the freedom of God if I don’t submit the freedom of my will. It is in the bowing of my knee, the surrender of my way to the Father’s way, that I can break the bondage of the enemy. As I painted I began to feel the royalty of God’s presence in the purple colors.
A truly surrendered heart gives the Lord room to work so He can chisel our soul, our body, and our spirit into the image of His Son. It is only in complete surrender that we can hold complete peace. One act of obedience opens the gate to a host of blessings. It truly breaks the dam that holds the hand of God’s blessings from our life. The curtain is opened to see God’s handwritten secrets in heaven. As I finished this painting the Lord prompted my heart with these words:
The presence of God inhabits the praises of His people. Once 
we realize the great measure of love He has for each one of us, 
freedom is released and healing comes forth. Our praise raises 
our faith, and our faith releases the healing rain. I imagined healing 
rain would be purple rain, the royalty of God reigning down.

“The Waterfall of Love” by Sallie Reid

​God is good, thus we are required to dream big. There is a time in our journey of love in Christ when God is able to trust our desires to be lined up with His. It is then in the measure of our faith that we are taken to the limits of our own imagination to see just how great God really is. We must not live inside the boundaries of what men say. We must take risks and open up the opportunity for the extravagant one to come in and change things. The presence of God shifts everything, and the presence of our God rests on the praises of His people. If a is our praise and b is God’s presence, then c is the change in atmosphere, a + b = c. Therefore, we can shift things with the worship from our hearts. We can tip the scales with the love of Jesus in our hearts.
The painting is like the flowing love of God. Once we receive the love, the light of Jesus illuminates our life and everything we touch. The love of God keeps flowing down in a trickle effect. There is no boundary — the more given, the more received. The colors in one’s life become alive with enthusiasm and joy. We are able to see things as Jesus does, and we are empowered to complete the work set before us

“New Day Dawning” by Sallie Reid

This painting is about a new day dawning in our lives as we come into the knowledge of Christ in us. A lady I met shared for the first time the pain and agony of an abortion she had twenty years prior. As she released her pain to the Lord and was able to forgive herself, she became a new person. I have come to realize, sometimes the hardest person to forgive is ourselves.

“The Message of the Bluebird” by Sallie Reid

The bluebird has become a whisper of love, a kiss from the Father to me. It is as if every time I come away with the Lord, He answers the prayer of my heart and seals it with the sighting of the bluebird. I have learned to spend time alone with the Lord. I have learned how to be still in His presence, something that was foreign to me prior to 1993. I have had a quiet time of Bible study since I was thirteen years old, but learning to be still in the lap of Papa God was a new thing. The treasures I have learned to carry by spending time in His presence are irreplaceable. Now every time I see a bluebird, it seems to be directly connected to the heart of God. While praying about something, I will hear a word from the Father, and I will see a bluebird.
He has continued to show me amazing things about the bluebird. One day I was out-side, and I saw a bluebird up on a high line. I said, “You know, Father, I would really like to see that bluebird up close.” The next thing I knew, that bluebird flew down in front of me and hovered like a hummingbird does. It was remarkable and, no, I could not believe what I was seeing. Why would God care about letting me see a bluebird up close ---but He did. He longs to do things for each one of us. That is why He created us: to love us. I know He is a good God —At the same time I have come to understand the heartaches of this life can leave many to question God’s goodness. I refuse to let the enemy steal my belief that God is good all the time. I know that thought is as real as He is to me.
I hope the next time you see a bluebird you will ponder the goodness of God. The special little bird is a symbol of God’s love. Blue represents the revelation of heaven brought to the one who is exuberant and passionately in love with Him.  Orange, the color that means passion, is found on the chest of the bird. I believe God is holding those who pursue him close to His heart. He is a good, good Father!

“The Broken Cross” by Sallie Reid

The inspiration for this painting came in three parts during a six week interval. I didn’t know what the whole painting would be until completion. I first saw the brown, red, and white swatch, but didn’t know what the colors would look like together. I have learned over time to paint what I see and trust that somehow it will come together. The painting remained this way for two weeks, and then I knew I could overlay more brown tones. I dripped the red paint, but still no new enlightenment. The painting remained that way for another two week period of time. I felt the crown of thorns would be a part of the imagery, but I didn’t know how. Finally, one weekend, I felt the nudging in my heart to finish the painting, but I had a previous engagement with some friends. I felt challenged between heeding the promptings in my spirit or joining my friends. I knew what I must do, but it was a hard decision for me. As I sat down to paint, the cross appeared to me. I knew at that moment the crown of thorns would go over the cross. I began to paint the thorny crown, and the presence of the Lord fell so strong around me, I could no longer stand. I was in worship with my God. I felt impressed at that time to depict my worship posture on the painting. I did, and as I finished, I was taken back to the day Christ was crucified. It was as if I could feel the earth shake, hear the thunder, and see the flash of lightening in the sky. The presence of the Lord was so strong it felt as if the electricity was on my back exactly as it was detailed in the painting. It was a powerful moment for me with our God.
Two weeks passed before I was inspired with the meaning of the painting. The inter-pretation was as follows: the broken cross is symbolic of us as a broken people. The remnant of His garment is the remnant of people who desire to allow their own brokenness to be re-deemed by the blood and empowered by His Spirit to take authority over the enemy. This victory can then be shared with others who have had similar issues and need breakthrough for themselves. The good news is the encounter of His healing love that never runs out.
God does not cause the pain, but He will redeem us if we allow Him. He will use it as a testimony for others if we submit our will to His. He desires to restore us to our original design, a son or daughter of Abba Father—and He wants us to help others to achieve the same kind of freedom!
“His love never runs out. All of you set free by God, tell the world! Tell how he freed you from oppression, then rounded you up from all over the place, from the four winds, from the seven seas.” Psalm 107:1-3 MSG

“In the Beginning” by Sallie Reid

I did this painting for my mother. She asked me to paint something with an abundance of color. We decided this might have been what it looked like in the creation of the garden. 
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the  deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds. And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed ac-cording to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.  And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.”  Genesis 1:1

“Passion and Growth” by Sallie Reid

I had a vision of these colors together as I was in worship one day. I did not know what they meant, but I knew it was a beautiful combination. Red and green are complements to each other on the color wheel. Side by side, each complements the other, vibrating with intensity. I later learned the red, orange, and yellow colors are symbolic of how exuberant passion leads to joy. It appears there is a flame-like image in the red as if it were fire. I believe this is likened to the fire in our belly placed there by God Himself when we draw intentionally close to His love. The love of God (symbolized in red) realized in our lives leads to unsurpassed joy, and the joy of the Lord (symbolized in yellow) is our strength. Our strength (symbolized in green) grows intently when we realize the power of His love (symbolized in white). Our salvation always leads to growth.
This day is holy to our Lord. Don’t be sad, because the joy 
of the Lord is your strength! Nehemiah 8:10  CEB

“The Cowboy” by Sallie Reid

The cowboy’s half face is symbolic of how we only see half of the truth in the natu-ral, but when we enter into His presence, we see clearly.
  “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall 
see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, 
even as I am fully known.”  1 Corinthians 13:12 
Some will only see His glory when they pass over to the other side. Others will choose to bring His glory here on earth through worship. The pink cloud is the love of God. He is always with us no matter how we see Him. The vision of this cowboy came to me a year after my daddy passed away. I didn’t realize the image I was seeing in the vision looked like my father until I painted it. I felt this was a way for the Lord to show me more truth of His word in Corinthians. We have so much to learn, so much to see, and so much to do. I am firmly convinced that our destinies here on earth are introductions to our life’s calling in heaven. I believe the scripture as it describes God to be looking for those He can show Him-self to. We simply have to make ourselves available. We have to want to see Him, and we have to want to know Him more. Our God is like the gentleman cowboy. He will never force his way into our lives. We have the choice to choose him. However, there will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus as Lord. It will be a glorious day because we will have the right perspective, it will not be in fear that we bow, it will be in awe of His magnificent love, power and peace.

“The Path” by Sallie Reid

One morning I felt the Lord calling me out into the woods. As I was walking, I said, “Okay, Lord, did You want to show me something?” I looked up and saw this beautiful path through a patch of flowers. My son, John Reid, had a mowed a path for me to walk on, and the flowers were blooming over it. I felt there was a message in it for me, but I wasn’t sure what. Later, I went out on the pier of our little pond to be alone with the Lord. As I was sitting there, He gave me this poem:

THE PATH
Come, my child, sit with me awhile;
Come down the path in the wild.
You cannot know the journey’s end,
So enjoy the flowers just around the bend.
I will not mislead your steps;
They are taped and measured in depth.
You trust your heart’s desire to be.
Will you follow the path I have chosen for you and me?

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you 
should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye 
on you.”  Psalm 32:8

“You make known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
  with eternal pleasures at your right hand.” 
Psalm 16:11 

“He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of 
righteousness for his name’s sake.”  Psalm 23:3

My son had made the path for me to go down. Sometimes it is the children that lead us, and sometimes it is the children who cut the path for us to travel on. Sometimes we have to have the eyes to see the value each child of God has to offer the Kingdom. They may not even be aware, but God is always working to bring about His purposes in the earth. All my children are a blessing to my heart. What a gift from God they are.

Upon the completion of this book I have just realized this painting was so similar to the vision I had when my mother passed from this side to the next.  I painted this in 2012 - my mother died in 2016, 4 years later. The moment my mom passed over I saw my dad come to meet her - he had on a white short sleeved shirt and white pants. He was standing at the base of white path through a golden field (just like this painting), my mom was dressed in a white shirt and a white circular skirt like from the 50’s - they both had black hair and they were laughing so hard. I only realized the painting was like the vision a few weeks ago. The only difference was the images of my mom and dad laughing.

“The Tree of Life” by Sallie Reid

One day I was looking out at my pasture as I was having my quiet time with the Lord, and I saw the sunlight on this one particular tree. I felt the Lord nudging my heart to pay attention to it. I drew it in my journal and returned to it later. As I was pondering what it could mean, all of sudden these words dropped in my Spirit.

The one whose light shines the brightest can give way to the 
lure of the darkness if they don’t keep their face turned toward 
the source of all light. The longer we look into the lure of 
darkness, the sooner we become held captive by the root of sin. 
But if we keep focused on the true light (Jesus), our roots are established in good soil and life is given in growth.

The bright yellow tree is the one who has focused on Jesus, is illuminated in all parts of its life, and its roots grow deep in good soil. The green in the tree is symbolic of growth. The orange trees are symbolic of those who once were exuberant for the Lord but have al-lowed their eyes to gaze upon the interesting patterns in the dark. The sparkles and the prett-colors are alluring and once we get caught up in the root of sin, those issues began to hold us captive.
We are always focused on the object in sight. We either see the Lord or the lure of the dark side. The good news is that we may look this way and that, we may waver from the path, but all we have to do is set our eyes to look into His beautiful face, and we are in the light again. We can perch ourselves on a limb in the tree to rest in His presence as we gaze through His eyes at the world before us. Our position is established, and we are more equipped to pray for His Kingdom here on earth as it is in heaven.

“The Forked Tree” by Sallie Reid

I had a vision of this tree early one Sunday morning and again later in worship. I felt it had significance, so I shared it with my friend, Matt Brown, at church. His response was that he felt it had something to do with negative space and resting in the Lord. The next day at my house, I shared the painting with a group of friends who felt the painting was about God’s love reaching up. Another friend, Lynn Foster, took the painting and turned it upside down. “Look it is a portal,” an entrance into the heavens. Previously that evening, I had shared an-other vision of God spreading His spirit on the earth as a strand of pearls broken over the land. I saw pearls going everywhere. He desires to see the Great Pearl dispersed to all people groups. I gave each person in our group a pearl. Lynn took her pearl and placed it in the en-trance of the portal, symbolic of casting our crowns before Christ in heaven. We all placed our pearls at the foot of the painting. As I prayed, the Lord gave me this word over the pic-ture. The forked tree is symbolic of the ability we have to make the choice to live for Him or for ourselves.

but when you finally release them unto me, my love turns them 
upside down and opens up the heavens for a divine entrance 
into my presence where my anointing flows and you can rest in me.

The battlefield of the mind wages war on the inner peace of the soul. Victory lies with the one who is fed the most: the soul in peace, or the soul at war. I have come to realize in the journey of life, we always have a choice of what our attitude will be. We cannot control what comes our way, but we can determine our response. This painting came from such a battle in my life. I had a dream of this painting. I woke up and sketched it out in the middle of the night, and the next morning I painted what I had dreamed. Upon later reflection of this piece, I wrote this poem about how God can give us peace in the middle of the storm.

“Morning Light”

The morning light how beautiful is its flicker,
The calming of the crickets against the melody of the dove.
What a refuge, what a place of rest.
The rest we find in the presence of God’s hand
Gives love to others we pass each day.

Life is given from the cool water’s edge,
Comfort is given from the warm blanket of His presence.
Peace is given in a moment of life held by grace.

And then along comes the enemy bringing bitter waters.
If we choose to drink the poison, our hearts implode.
But if we refuse the bitter weed and wait upon the Lord,
Our strength is renewed, we soar on the backs of the eagle’s wings.

Only in His presence can we see so clearly,
Through His eyes of living water do we see the world of love.
We can let the heart be bitter or better;
The choice is always ours to be had.

“Sunset on the Lily Pads” by Sallie Reid

The image for this painting came to me one day as I was meditating on the goodness of God. The juxtaposition of complementary colors lie as a parallel to life when opposites are in place. The issues of life can sometimes lie side-by-side and give homage to the reality that God can take any hardship and turn it into something good. The many reflections in the painting can be confusing until one steps back and is able to look at the image as a whole. As in our own lives, things can seem out of control until we are able to look back and see how the hand of God was working alongside us the whole time. Serenity glistens on the horizon of every sunset when we turn it all over to Him.
I painted this in 2008, and this morning, July 17, 2016, I realized I didn’t have a scripture reference. I asked the Lord what I should use and immediately Psalms 18:20 came to my mind. I did not know what it said until I looked it up. I am always amazed at the hand of God and how he directs our path. He tells the people in scripture to write the vision down for a future time. The visions and paintings from years ago give testimony of His tender hand gently guiding my heart all through my life. He makes things plain for us when we ask.

"Daughters of the King" by Sallie Reid

I saw this vision in a worship service of women with Teresa Nix in Leona, Texas: there was a golden wave over a patch of a colored, checkered pattern with a gold rope and a pillar of fire. I explained what I saw to the women present. I did not know what it meant, but I felt it was from the Lord. A friend said, “Sallie, listen to this verse from the Original Jewish Language Bible.”
“Inside the palace, the King's daughter looks splendid, 
attired in checker-work embroidered with gold. In brocade, 
she will be led to the King; to you with the virgins in her 
retinue. They will be led in with gladness and joy; they will 
enter the King’s palace.”  Psalm 45:13-14
Later that evening, I was painting, believing the Lord for the interpretation of the vi-sion. I painted with calm assurance that He would bring it to pass. During this process, an-other friend,  Jessica Greenhaw came over with her daughter. I gave the daughter paper and chalk to let her create her own piece. The mother was perplexed by the painting.  She asked the Lord, “Is it checkers—or is it a flag?” 
The Holy Spirit spoke to her heart and said, “The colors represent the daughters of the nation's, covered in my glory, guarded by my fire as they press on into my presence.”
The Lord so blessed me with the interpretation. It was such a confirmation to me that I was seeing something from the Lord, for it was not only confirmed in the interpretation of one person, but two, and through His word in a translation I had never read.

" Be Still and know " by Sallie Reid

I painted this 24 years ago from this publication 2018, and this past year 2017–23 years post the painting— while visiting Bethel Church in Redding, California, I saw a physi-cal place in the natural that looked much like this painting to me.  The waterfall was in Bur-ney, California, and is known as Burney Falls.  I was overwhelmed with the holiness of God in the far-reaching thought that He would show me this very water fall in my mind prior to seeing it in the natural. The Father gave me this resting place in my mind to ‘Be Still and Know Him’ during a tumultuous time of life.  Now, twenty-three years later, He would show me the waterfall visually here on the earth. As I viewed this amazing sight, all I felt was the tangible power of God’s glory. 
One of the biblical meanings of the number 23 is ‘God with us’ and ‘the Lord’s pro-vision’. It is also a symbol of the spirit world and the world of matter coming to-gether, which is exactly what happened with the vision prior to the sighting of the ac-tual place 23 years later.
The force of the water paralleled the force I felt of God’s love washing over me. In the same way I had learned to quiet my mind in the spirit with the vision of the waterfall, I had learned to receive the love of the Father as Christ loved the church. “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10). The number 24 means priestly courses, governmental perfection; full authority; and complete rule; maturity; elders around heaven’s throne worshipping. (Revelation 11;16) according to the book by Barbie Breithet “A to Z Dream Symbology Dictionary”

40 Pasture keepers by Sallie Reid

One day I drove out to the country farm where I grew up. I had this gentle nudge from the Lord that there was something I needed to see. Little did I know it would be an avalanche of revelation for me. As I walked, tears began to flow. It was a returning to my roots, a reckoning time. I have been on a discovery of my true identity—my destiny. God’s provision was there for me through my earthly father and mother. I grew up under the farmer’s protection. God is patient with us to understand the fullness of his grace.
I had a dream of a painting one night in 2012, and the name came with it - “40 Pas-ture Keepers.” It was forty cows with a background of many colors. I prayed into the dream, and I looked up what the spiritual meaning was. This is what I believe it meant, the cows were keeping watch over that which was mine until I got an understanding of who I am in Christ.’
What was mine to get was my true identity — who I am because God calls me his own. It is not because of anything I do or have done, but because He loves me. My truest self is full of color and grounded by the salt of the earth. I am salt and light.
It seems simple to realize our identity. However, the breaking off of strongholds that holds us back is a monumental victory in the course of life. It is a continual process of stay-ing focused on the love of Jesus while guarding our hearts from the wiles of the enemy. The things that can distract us from our very purpose of loving well.


  You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, 
how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the 
light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 
Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead 
they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the             house.”  Matthew 5:15-16

I pondered this painting again during a time soaking in His presence and I literally felt the tangible presence of His love all over me. I realized the cows were coming out of the red watching over me in the love of God. The overwhelming power of His love is so simple but so hard to recognize sometimes. It is the single most important thing to get in this life - the simple purity of His love for us.  A friend in Christ recently saw this painting and after telling her the story she said you should name this “Holy Cow”. I now realize it took 6 years for me to get the meaning of this dream - 6 means to toil or labor; wrestling with the carnal and spiritual natures; coming together of these states in harmony.

God paints a masterpiece every morning and every evening. Do we have eyes to see the miracles of God unfold before us? He offers us peace for the taking every day, yet most of the time, we are too consumed with our own agenda to notice. If we only depend upon Him, He will supply what we need just in time. This painting was inspired through the doubting of my own abil-ity in leading a painting conference at my church. I was feeling so low that I told the Lord I need a real miracle here. The Lord nudged me to look over at the sunrise. It was then I heard Him say, as if to squelch my own doubt, “Look over here and paint that.” 
The beautiful scene was fleeting, and there was no time for a photo. However, I was able to paint what I saw. After I painted the sunrise at the con-ference, a friend, Dr. Quartermonte, recognized it as the morning’s sunrise. He said, “I noticed how beautiful it was and ran in to get my camera, but by the time I got back, it was gone.” 
The moment was fleeting, but I knew it was a point to be made that God has what we need at the precise time we need it.
“For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it 
speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though 
it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will

“The Calling of the Bride” by Sallie Reid

I saw the white tornado during a worship service. I felt it was the Lord wooing us all into His presence. I felt the Lord was saying, “Whosoever would enter into His presence would be drawn up closer to Him.” As I finished the painting, I realized it was the Lord calling the Bride unto Himself. The pastor had me pray into that and a little girl came to front to receive salvation that day!

This painting was a vision I saw during worship. The girl is dancing through the meadow as her heart is set free in truth. She is given a greater measure of liberty as she realizes who she is in the presence of the Lord. The image grows more and more transparent as she draws closer to the Father. We become more like Christ as we allow the truth to set us free in ourselves to become who we were created to be. I asked my friend Tami Suits if her daughter could be a life study for this painting. I took many photos of her striking a pose for this work.

Rain on the farm brings back the fondest memories of my dad. I can remember him holding the back screen door open and yelling, “Woo hoo, come on down!” Rain was always welcome. The hay crop needed it, the cows loved it, and my dad depended on it to provide for his family. “Rain on the Farm” is a sweet visual of how the Heavenly Father rains down blessings on his son (my earthly father), and in turn, he brought provisional blessings to his sons and daughter, generation to generation.

“Hay Bales in Texas” by Sallie Reid

Work was hard on the farm. In hay season, there were many fourteen-hour days. Daddy would say, “Sookie, (my nick-name) you have to make hay while the sun shines.” Diligence to work hard while you can is a key to success no matter what career you choose. A strong work ethic is imperative for excellence. While striving is not an element we want to develop in Kingdom living, neither is laziness. We must do our work as unto the Lord no matter what it is. While work is not the definition of one’s identity, it is an element of purposefulness. We must be willing to seek the Lord in what He desires for us to do, and then we are to do that work with excellence. Our salvation is not earned by our works; it is by grace. However, faith without works is dead. So which is it? It is both. We must live in grace, finding the joy of the Lord to give us strength to do the job set before us, and then set our hearts to finish the task.
“The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” 
2 Thessalonians 3:10
“Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of 
the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only 
hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm

The answers to life are sometimes wrapped up in the everyday chores, revealed only to those willing to look deep enough to discover the secrets that are in plain, open sight. “Hay Bales in Texas” remind me of this verse.

The Pinnacle of Peace, wrapped in the wings of hope, rises from the heart of love and there must always be love. When the love of the Father is received by us and that love returned to Him, the circle of love slips into hope.

Hope - we have hope because we love. As long as we love, we can have hope. On the wings of hope comes peace.
Peace -  the pinnacle of peace rises where there is hope, giving way to joy, and joy gives us strength, the strength to do what we are called to do in the midst of chaos. Order is given to chaos when we bring these truths of heaven to earth!
We are mighty men and women in Him as we stand firm in the face of the enemy’s tactics to bring defeat in our lives.

“A Golden Egg in the Nesting of Silver” by Sallie Reid

I heard the words of this title in my mind getting dressed for church one day. I studied what the words meant. I asked Holy Spirit for understanding.

As I pondered this phrase, “Golden Egg in the Nesting of Silver,” I remembered a word given to me by one of my pastors, Alex Liotta: “The paintings you will paint will not be for con-sumption but for revelation and prophetic prayer.”
Thinking about the meaning and the revelation for prophetic prayer, I felt the Lord was say-ing that the winter season holds transitions in its grasp. Think about how things pass away during the winter, and gives way for new life; like the life incubated in an egg. It speaks of new birth or promo-tion.
The dormant winter holds life just beneath the surface. The breakthrough is just around the corner; the dismal cover of an egg shell holds life below!
“You did knit me together in my mother’s womb” Psalm 139:13 
In the womb, life is formed. Under the covering of the old life is the seed for a new life. When the old has passed away, the new life begins. I hold the potential seed of wisdom, power and strength but I must handle with care my reflection of God in my heart—I must protect it, nurture it, and care for it. Father, show me the rock of fearlessness. Show me no fear. Show me the cliff of faith — a faith that reaches out to the impossible, faith that gives life to a dead thing.
I now believe it wasn’t only a word for me, but for the church body in a winter season. The breakthrough is just around the corner. I believe we have been given a golden egg of God’s pres-ence, carrying wisdom, power, and strength. We must, as a body, nurture and handle with care the presence. His reflections cradled in our hearts, so that we carry the anointing well. I believe there will be a stronger presence of feminine power and spiritual energy as God intended it in the begin-ning of creation.
We must be conscience of this golden egg, intentionally hosting His presence as we honor one another, blessing the Father and blessing each other. It is my prayer to be a host of His presence personally by edifying the body with the power of love. I want to engage others to be all they were created to be. I want to operate life in strength and wisdom. I want to walk in peace, abiding in love and living in grace. I saw this vision in 2011. As I reflect on this painting in 2018, I have definitely seen a feminine power coming to the forefront of the church body as a whole. I believe we truly are walking in a new release of God’s spirit in His creation – a ‘New Renaissance of God Awareness’

“The Echoes of Love” by Sallie Reid

I created this painting at an artists’ retreat with Janice Von Cronkite. I previously had a vi-sion of the white part of the angel’s wing, but it looked like a bone or a breastplate of some kind to me. After I painted this picture, it was eight months later that I actually saw the exact bone in the natural. I was at the family farm, seeking the face of God. I was looking for answers and felt directed to go to the back of the pasture where I hardly ever go. The place was an old cow cemetery where my dad had buried sick cows. I walked around, praying to the Father and asking, “Why did I feel led to come here?” Again there was a gentle nudging in my spirit, and I felt I was to walk a different path than the way I came. As I was walking, I looked down, and right in front of me was the exact bone I saw in the vision eight months prior. I know the number eight is significant — meaning a new beginning, a new order, or a new creation. I now feel the Lord was telling me it was time to bury the past and embrace the future. The bone was actually a backbone, but when I painted the vision, I thought of it as a breastplate. I felt the Lord was telling me that He goes before me, and He is my rear guard. I believe God has angels in place to protect the gold He has buried inside our hearts until we have the capacity to hold the anointing for our own destinies He has for us to release in the earth. At the time of this writing, I feel the Lord is highlighting the significance of walking a different path than the way I had come into my faith. Again, I let go of (bury) the past and kept my eyes on the cross. He has all things lined out. 
 

“He has a plan for you, a plan to prosper and not fail.

The Angel of the Lord goes before us, making a way for the echoes of love from the cross. The angel protects our hearts of flesh until we have the key to unlock the gold from within. Once we know who we are, the butterfly emerges to release the beauty of heaven here on earth. We emerge from the cocoon and become what we were created for as transparent vessels for the love of God to flow through. We are working from the throne of grace not working for it.

“Peaches of Grace” by Sallie Reid

I saw a vision of peaches, and I was impressed with the thought of how much grace there is in peaches. After the painting was finished, this teaching came together.
The blue represents the revelation of God; the orange and yellow, the exuberance of one on fire and full of joy in their faith. This posture allows those who are passionate about the Lord to rest gracefully in the lap of revelation -- thus, peaches of grace. He who abides in His presence bears much fruit. It is the presence of the Lord in our lives that makes the difference in how we live. Peaches of grace lead us to peace!
“The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers

The gift of grace carries the sins of men from the soul to the cross, ushering mankind into the great expanse of His presence. Grace is the bridge that crosses over all barriers, covering all things with love. Love covers a multitude of sin. Perfect love casts out all fear.
“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because 
fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made 
perfect in love.”   1 John 4:18
“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together 
in perfect unity.”  Colossians 3:14
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is 
not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no

This painting came from a photo of the ocean. As I painted it, I felt the Lord was telling me it was a new day breaking. Again the notion came that said, “Be still and know that I am God. All things are new in Me!”

disaster has passed. I cry out to God Most High, to God, who

“The Blue Trees” by Sallie Reid

The blue trees are an unnatural state — perhaps even foolish for some, and so it is with the wisdom of God. The blue trees represent revelation of a new awakening. A moment of truth when we come to realize all parts of God’s creation work in this magnificent way to reveal truths of His love for us through intimate moments of worship. The wheel of worship turns the wheel of love from God to show us the answers to questions we did not know before. The Lord took me to the story in Ezekiel about the wheel within the wheel.  Read the whole account for a deeper revelation.

“As I watched the four creatures, I saw something that looked like a wheel on the ground be-side each of the four-faced creatures. This is what the wheels looked like: They were identi-cal wheels, sparkling like diamonds in the sun. It looked like they were wheels within wheels, like a gyroscope.” Ezekiel 1:16-17 MSG

Witness Lee explains it like this: “a wheel within a wheel indicates that in the move of the living creatures there is the move of the Lord; the Lord moves in their moving. The wheels follow the creatures and the creatures follow the Spirit, but the Spirit is in the wheels. This indicates that we are one with the Lord, and He is one with us.  The Lord follows us, we fol-low the Spirit, and the Spirit is in the wheels.” (Recovery Version of the Holy Bible Commen-tary by Witness Lee)

As we move into worship the Spirit of God moves within us revealing the nature of heaven in ways we would not be able to understand otherwise. 

“ But God chose the foolish things of the world that he 
might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the 
weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the 
things that are strong.”  1 Corinthians 1:27

“The Wheel within the Wheel”

The breeze of the morning delivers new mercies.
The song of the birds bring music to the air.

Sunshine warms the grass, melting the dew,
As the day opens up to miraculous possibilities.

Love floats on the wings of hope,
Yielding the settling feeling of safety.
Peace is at home in the heart of love,
Love rests on the submitted will of thanksgiving.

Worship turns the wheel within the wheel,
Setting up the foundation for peace to lie in place.

Praise gives one transformation from wretched
too beautiful.
In a moment one is saved from hell, 
in a moment a mind shifts,

The heart turns as the flesh is laid down.
And we receive the love delivered by amazing grace.

Only the humble will ever know the supernatural
     power of the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
Even though one day every knee will bow and
    every tongue will confess.

But only the meek will inherit the earth,
And only the meek ones choose to walk alongside
    the power.

Because the greatest power on this earth is love;

“Open Heaven” by Sallie Reid

I had two open visions of heaven, one at church and another at a cross street in my home town. I saw the clouds go vertical as an open portal into heaven. I combined the two visions in this painting. In the first vision I saw vivid colors strewn through the vertical clouds as if ribbons were woven in the clouds. The second vision had the same vertical clouds with bright, little silver boxes and trailing streamers behind. 
I inquired of the Lord, “What is that, Father?” 
His answer was, “These are the gifts I am dropping in this region.” 
I realized the trailing streamers were not attached, symbolic of how His gifts of love have no strings attached; they are unconditional. According to  Dr. Barbie Breathitt Dream Symbology book: 
Silver represents the price or atonement for the soul’s redemption through Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Righteousness; money of exchange; dross being purified in the refiner’s fire, God’s image reflected; wealth; 
It is also described by others to be  a subtle strength that is flexible enough to be molded into something better, yet strong enough to keep the integrity of its core. 
I believe this is in relation to the Lord dropping the gifts in the earth to lead in a subtle but strong way.
I later envisioned what it looks like to move from glory to glory as we press in closer to the Father’s heart through His Son Jesus. As the woman in the picture bows down in wor-ship, her faith becomes more childlike the closer she draws to the embrace of Jesus. The an-gelic host is warring on our behalf as we enter into worship. It is the front and rear guard, fighting the enemy in every way that keeps us from experiencing the authentic love of God, whether it is in the political spirit of the Pharisee in the earth or the domineering control of doctrinal religion in the church. The scripture speaks to the cloud of witnesses and the angels as they are cheering us on to move past the strongholds of offense and unforgiveness and to enter His courts with praise. Our greatest battle tactic against the enemy is when we set our hearts to worship God. I believe heaven is moved by the heart of worship. I believe the an-gels are set in motion to work on our behalf. God is looking to and fro.

 “The Lord looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who are wise and want to please God.” (Psalm 14:2)

“God looks down from heaven, searching among all mankind 
to see if there is a single one who does right and really seeks 
after God.”   Psalm 53:2
I felt this poem was in line with this painting, as it is only in sonship that we began to learn what it is to be Christ-like on earth as He is heaven.

“True Sonship”
As sons of God we know our place,
We walk in authority despite the fears we face.

The keys to our problems we are given
As we step in stride of righteous livin’.

Only as sons do we live life well,
Orphans scramble to ring the bell.
The orphan screams for attention to be paid,
If only he could see the path is already laid.

Our Father in Heaven desires to restore us now,

Lovingly He coaxes us in to see,
Lining us up for our destiny.

“Tut” by Sallie Reid

These paintings of the bull and the cow were done out of a simple pleasure to honor my heritage on the farm. My father’s nickname was “Tut”, and my mother’s, “Mae”. I began to ask the Lord if there was significance for me to grasp in these paintings. As I studied the biblical meaning of the bull and cow, I realized in fact there was revelation to unveil. Cows are symbolic of sanctified believers, and the bull means economic increase, not to mention “bullheaded” and forceful in strength.  We were definitely led as a family by my mother to be sanctified believers and my father’s farm provided economic increase for our livelihood.  Dad was a bit bullheaded in his thinking, forceful in his ways, and strong in his faith. They both taught us to work hard and to lead a good life.
Our work ethic was so ingrained in our thinking, unearned grace was hard to accept. I had to learn to differentiate between performance through hard work and the reward of my salvation given by grace. I do believe hard work is next to godliness, but it shouldn’t be be-fore it.  
I had to really work at letting go of my performance tendencies, always striving for perfection while desperately wanting to be approved of by man. I had to realize my first pri-ority was to learn how to rest in His presence with a grateful heart for this undeserved favor of grace. I had to realign my thinking as a daughter of the King to work from my seat in glory and not for my place of acceptance. It amazes me how the enemy is always looking for something good to pervert. Farm life is a good work, a good life in and of itself. However, the lie the enemy presents is that it is a defining label of our identity. Any time we put any-thing above the sacrifice of grace, anything above what God says we are, we move into a form of idolatry. I have been guilty of taking work on as something good, sometimes leaving God out of the details. I have fought the battle in my head, making hard work more important than it should be. The label of a hard worker is a good one, but it should not come before be-ing a great worshipper. I am afraid in the past I forced myself to be a hard worker more than I was a great worshipper. Surprisingly, I have found it is the sweetness of His presence that makes light the burden of anything I carry. The Lord continually reveals truths to me in the simple, ordinary things of life. The truth is, He is much more interested in us resting in Him than striving to prove we are worthy individuals by how hard we work. It is the lie of the en-emy that we have something to prove so we can be loved for being good. We could never be good enough to deserve His grace, and yet the truth is, we are loved no matter what. We are loved simply because God wants to love us. In realizing we are loved, we then die to our-selves to live for Him. We receive His gift of grace and then give that grace away by loving each other. We have to search out the things of God’s heart to be released from the lies the enemy has presented to us. We always have a choice to make in what we believe and what we dismiss as a lie. God is always after our relationship with Him establishing our identity, so that we know who we are and what our purpose is. Our faith is not to be a form of religion that looks good or that is favored by the world to be good. Sometimes we have to dismiss a lie we have believed a lifetime to walk in the freedom of the childlike faith we are designed for.
The strong work ethic of farm life gave me the courage to keep going and not quit, to keep searching the heart of God to find the peace of knowing who I am in Him. I have been established in my faith of the goodness of God, rooted in the foundations of the word, and I am not as easily shaken as I once was. My passion for the kingdom of God to be here on earth as it is in heaven is stronger than ever. Ironically the farm is symbolic of the harvest of souls. It was as if the Lord had me nurtured in an environment that would offer protection from the ways of the world until I understood my posture as a daughter of the King.  
  I have realized God’s portion is light (His yoke is easy), but the burden of the world is heavy. The enemy works hard to keep us downtrodden so that we cannot look into the eyes of our gentle Father. We believe the world’s system of performance based on favor, striving to reach man’s approval.

  “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, 
and I will give you rest.  Take My yoke upon you 
and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in 
heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For My 
yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

God is looking for those who will enjoy His presence and carry His love into the world. The peace of God rests in His presence. I have to allow myself the privilege of sitting in His lap, of being in His presence, and drinking from His well.
We are released from the yoke of work from the world’s view to do the work of the Kingdom from His view. It isn’t about us working for God; it is working from our place with God. Remember, we are to be co-laborers. Our passions will lead us to our calling, which leads us to our destiny to fulfill our purpose of bringing glory to His name. Our passions are designed by God with a specific bent that brings joy to our own heart. As we work out the ways of the Lord in our life, we are enabled to rise above the tyranny of the enemy. However, if we look to the world system, we will only be ensnared by the enemy as he sets the entrapment of per-formance before us, crippling us in pride and self-indulgence, most often distracting us from our main purpose in life.
If we look to God to fill us with His love, His power, and His peace, we will be given the established steps of our life that lead to an abundant life everlasting.

The Praises of People
The Spirit of the Lord inhabits the praises of His people
Peace that passes all understanding fills the temple.

Peace overflows. Love and grace abound,
Forgiveness is found.

The tears of praise melt away the flesh.
The fullness of love brings the mission to bless.

The surrendered heart releases His hand.
He pushes out the carnal and fills us to stand.

Through the ups and downs of life, God is still faithful and, no matter what we go through, God is still there cheering us on. He is not condemning us. (Romans 8:1) He loves us, and He is for us, not against us. If we are left with no other thought than God loves us, we have enough grace to carry us through the rest of our days. 
 
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect 
in weakness.”   2 Corinthians 12:9

“A Boy and His Horse” by Sallie Reid

I painted this piece as a commission for Melissa Smith in New Waverly, Texas. The horse was just shy of thirty-three years old when she died. Melissa’s son, Mason, was very close to the horse. She wanted to commemorate the memory of the horse. I felt there was a significant word from the Lord on the matter, and this is what I felt impressed to write.
The animals of the earth are created to be companions to mankind. We become more attached to some animals than to others. They have personalities, and they have devotion to their owners. Animals respond to kindness, care, and love from people. Horses are much more affectionate than most people know. They nuzzle one another as if they are hugging or kissing, and in fact, they are. The only thing that separates us from the animals is that our souls can be reborn by the Holy Spirit of God. Personally, I think they will be a part of our heaven as we all see it differently, but unlike us, they don’t have need of a Savior to be sacrificed for their sins. We were meant for a higher place in relationship with God and people. Sometimes we can have a better relationship with an animal than we do people. I had a bond with two horses and two dogs that were as close as many of my human relationships. They carried me through some hard times. God has continued to use the animal kingdom and nature to speak encouragement when words would not have worked. There is a special bond between man and beast; sometimes it is a match and sometimes not. Our bonding to an animal is a teaching tool of how we are to bond with God. He wants to be our comfort, our sol-ace, our best friend, and sometimes, He uses an animal to say the things we need to hear.

“Jesus in Living Color” by Sallie Reid

I painted this in a church service in Magnolia, Texas. I have had visions of Jesus in the past with color all around Him and with all colors inside Him. I sometimes see people as individual colors, as if each spirit is a different color of the rainbow, as jewels in His crown. One is blue, one is red, and so on. My friend Omar Vigil shared this scripture with me when I told him what I saw.
“The Lord their God will save his people in that day, as a Shepherd caring for his sheep. They shall shine in his land as glittering jewels in a crown. How wonderful and beau-tiful all shall be! The abundance of grain and grapes will make the young men and girls flourish; they will be radiant with health and happiness.”  Zechariah 9:16,17  LB
I imagine all the colors around Jesus as an extension of His love to all people groups — we are all loved by Him. He is reaching out to us in the world, pulling us and drawing us to Him, and He often uses us to reach out to those around us. I believe the painting of Jesus’ face in color is of us abiding in Him, resting in His presence, and taking on His likeness. The pastor of the church, Richie Clark, used the piece as an example of God in living color. He said he heard the voice of God say that most people know Him as a black-and-white God but that He is really a God of living color. I love that!

I painted this lion on the heels of a message from John Parks in Magnolia, Texas, entitled “The Lion Is in the Field.” The lion, of course, represents the Lion of Judah, signifying Jesus is in the field, able and ready for the harvest. I love the promptings of the Holy Spirit in the body working together to bring about revelation to all willing to receive.“Then one of the elders said to me, ‘Do not weep! “Three Trees” by Sallie Reid

I painted these trees in a very dim light in a church service in Austin, Texas at Rick Pino’s “David’s Heart Conference.” I knew I wanted to see the brilliance of the colors as I have grown to love the vibrancy of different hues bouncing off each other. I feel that is in response to all the colorful souls that desire to be in concert with one another, working to become a unified body of believers. The three trees give reference to the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The colors behind the trees provide the backdrop for the Lord to move us all into a place of harmony, making way for a unified setting that establishes His love in the earth. We will be known by our love for one another. The light we carry will be dim until it is given new life through the glory of God, and that glory shines down to illuminate the darkness, pushing it to the far recesses of the earth.

“The Family Tree” by Sallie Reid

The painting is for people who want to begin their lives together as a family, based on the foundations of faith in God. The husband is like the canopy of trees covering his family with the greatest authority on earth—love. His love for his wife is to be as Christ loved the church. The color purple is symbolic of the royal priesthood he represents over his family. His greatest acts of love will be to serve his wife as Christ came to serve the church, providing and protecting a safe environment for his family to thrive in.
The woman’s love is represented by the glowing pink around and through the trees. Her will-ingness to receive the man’s love nurtures him and creates a safe haven for him. The honor and re-spect she has for her husband holds the heart of the family in her hands. The middle tree is symbolic of her anchor. Each child born to this union is represented by the smaller trees, and each is one of many trees that will benefit from the love of this union. The multiple trees represent the many lives that will come under the shelter of this union as a safe place.
The water reflects the love of Christ in their lives as they carry love to the world. The emerald tones suggest the concept of eternity in love, promoting growth in each other as equal partners. The rainbow of colors throughout the painting represent the promise to love one another.

I am your lighthouse burning bright for you. The most violent of all storms cannot quench the light because light always dispels darkness. I am the ‘Son’ and you are my moon. You reflect my light. I will keep you from being destroyed by the onslaught of the enemy and you in turn are the light for the ones who have lost all hope. You are a lighthouse for those that need to be pointed to me. He is the reason I persevere. He is the reason I am still here. I know my life is not my own; it was bought with a price. My prayer is that I purpose to live out my appointed days bringing glory to His name. I am so thankful for His ever-loving encouragement to fulfill my purposes here on earth. I am so thankful He is a good God who provided a way through the law of condemnation and judgment, the greatest measure of love ever known. His Son’s sacrifice on the cross gave us free access to the Father through faith. He provided the way for you and me to have a relationship with Him in the most intimate way. As Christ loved the church and was willing to lay His life down for her, so God loved the world that He was willing to give His only Son so that we may have life and have it abundantly.
