This painting came from a photo of the ocean. As I painted it, I felt the Lord was telling me it was a new day breaking. Again the notion came that said, “Be still and know that I am God. All things are new in Me!”
“Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me for in you I take
refuge. I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings until the
disaster has passed. I cry out to God Most High, to God, who
vindicates me. He sends from heaven and saves me, rebuking those
who hotly pursue me. God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.
I am in the midst of lions; I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts--
men whose teeth are spears and arrows, whose tongues are sharp swords.
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
They spread a net for my feet I was bowed down in distress. They dug a
pit in my path—but they have fallen into it themselves. My heart, O God,
is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music. Awake, my
soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise you,
Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great
is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.”
Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.”
Psalm 57:1-11
“Be Still My Son, My Daughter”
Sitting on the still pond of life,
Looking listening for the still small voice,
Be still, Oh my soul!
Hear my voice in the light of the day,
Look at my hand in the songs of the birds.
Who can say to the water speak?
Who can give sound to light?
Who gave light a voice in the universe?
Who gave the wind a breath that is unseen?
How big is the hand of man?
How big is the voice of man?
Constantly struggling to pervert my beauty,
Looking for answers in a world that is without.
Only by permission of free will does the enemy
have place in your head.
Keep your eyes on me—look at the clear blue
waters in my eyes.
See freedom as I created it to be.
Glory in my presence.
It is a new season, a new chapter, a new day
in this life.
Persevere my dear one—push through the noise
for my still, small voice to hear.
The break of day brings new mercies, the old man
has passed away.
The new man walks hand in hand with my spirit.
I will not forsake you nor mislead you.
All things hidden will come forth!
Don’t doubt what you heard in the light,
When you stand in the shadows of the darkness.
You are who I say you are,
You are my son, you are my daughter.
