"Be Still and Know" by Sallie Reid
I painted this 24 years ago from this publication 2018, and this past year 2017–23 years post the painting— while visiting Bethel Church in Redding, California, I saw a physical place in the natural that looked much like this painting to me. The waterfall was in Burney, California, and is known as Burney Falls. I was overwhelmed with the holiness of God in the far-reaching thought that He would show me this very water fall in my mind prior to seeing it in the natural. The Father gave me this resting place in my mind to ‘Be Still and Know Him’ during a tumultuous time of life. Now, twenty-three years later, He would show me the waterfall visually here on the earth. As I viewed this amazing sight, all I felt was the tangible power of God’s glory.
One of the biblical meanings of the number 23 is ‘God with us’ and ‘the Lord’s pro-vision’. It is also a symbol of the spirit world and the world of matter coming together, which is exactly what happened with the vision prior to the sighting of the actual place 23 years later.
The force of the water paralleled the force I felt of God’s love washing over me. In the same way I had learned to quiet my mind in the spirit with the vision of the waterfall, I had learned to receive the love of the Father as Christ loved the church. “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10). The number 24 means priestly courses, governmental perfection; full authority; and complete rule; maturity; elders around heaven’s throne worshipping.
